A true Hero

Just spoke to Gaurav & found out that he’s enterpreneur’d http://www.hostcurry.com with a friend. & truly speaking, I’m really impressed. It takes more than just a business plan to start something like this – courage, time & ability to face an eventuality of heavy losses (personal & financial). I’ve been planning to start something but probably I’m not being able to chanelize my energies in this direction – or maybe my objective is far too cloudy to clearly look at it. Or maybe my prior commitments are too much for me to spend time on thinking about this.

So my advice to all those students out there – do it when you are not comitted to anyone – when you dont have to loose anything & risking things for a annual turnover is more gainworthy than sitting back & enjoying monthly perks!

So Gaurav, I’m interested to know that how are you going to keep the revenue stream inbound & whats different in your offering that people will come to you – maybe think about it & write something on your blog :)

    lemme take this opp for saying something which was a long wish of mine :)

    Nothing is better in the world than hearing your old buddy and idol praising your work , I started my linux world with maku ,We always talked about my problems, my ideas and the support and frequency he provided was unmatchable, Everyone in the world need to be pushed to do better in life, I am following maku blog for almost 3 years now, It never happened that any of his posts didn`t amazed me , It luks maku take always take the right path and Dammed how he manage doing things so quickly and neatly :) , It gave me a lot of energy to get pushed :)

    Revenue is nt d all thing,..
    we want an e-revolution that that each a every student hv their own website with their id’s.
    moreover their are two type of biz one z to invest “money” another is two impliment “mind”
    we are on second track n after anlsng d mkt we know
    dat we are the best.

    Well, Honey – your initial plan might be good but how are you going to sustain these revenues? Hosting providers like http://www.gohindi.com offer domains as cheap as INR 75 per year. How are you going to tackle that low TCO?

    & gaurav is a geek himself… lol.

    The gohindi guys are giving .info domain for Rs 75 bucks which is costing them 43 bucks each, now since it`s going to end in a month as verisign is ending the initial sale , along with it any renewals in next year will be again 350 bucks , see we are not going into fooling people , there is no point in it. If we have to fool people it`s better we go into contacting business or govt job ;) .

    We are planning maximum 50 bucks profit in each package , our aim is different, our aim is to be in top 10 domain registrants in next 1.5 years from India.

    our main revenue generation will be coming from programming support and website designing that we do, We are charging a 2500 bucks profit for that, And i believe we can sustain on that.

    Wait till we get our research complete , we are following and analyzing market very closely and realizing that most of people are into concentrating on getting domain registered and selling space , we are focusing on getting websites registered.
